Bears Deluxe is home to a unique and global community. You never know where you may encounter another Deluxe individual, however, you can get to know them online in our Twitter and Discord communities. Art collectors, tech enthusiast, musicians, traders and more hang out and help each other improve in various aspects.

Also, it is known that over time our holders simply become more Deluxe. This mysterious effect has been dubbed metaphysical by many, both long lasting and irrevocable. The Bears Deluxe team is skeptical of the existence of such a force. "As it has been told by the traveling Honey Merchant (a cryptic, clever, and coy individual), the evil bear sorcerer Dolo has taken drastic measures to try and capture the essence of the Deluxe energy emitted by the Bears for his own consumption. Aside from the Merchant's initial transmission upon the Bears at the time of their creation, little is known of their universe. However, the Merchant has suggested something unexpected awaits, and that a Quest may be in order to restore the connection between the Deluxe world and our own."

Contract Migration

Originally, the genesis Bears Deluxe collection was created and deployed using an ERC-1155 smart contract template provided by popular digital assets marketplace OpenSea. This is sometimes referred to as "Lazy Minting" due to the ease with which anyone could mint a token onto the blockchain using this contract. After quickly outgrowing the contract's limitations, the first step was to write a custom ERC-721 smart contract for the Bears Deluxe collection that would enable the team to expand upon the cute pixel bear images in a way that could provide additional value for its holders.

In order to complete the migration process, holders had to burn their old Bears Deluxe tokens in exchange for minting the same tokens on the new custom smart contract. Over 85% of the 6,900 Bears Deluxe were successfully migrated within two months of the new contract deployment. At a later date, OpenSea deleted the "Old Collection" effectively making the old tokens unviewable and un-transferrable, in other words, invisible and soulbound. In response to this, the Deluxe team created a new mint page to verify ownership of "old" bears, check to see if the corresponding "new" bears had been minted, and allow holders to mint any of their unminted "new" bears. “Unmigrated” or "old" bears living on the OpenSea template contract are unable to benefit from utility perks such as: accruing and claiming daily HoneyD token, claiming Honey Hives Deluxe and VX Deluxe, and participating in all future utility and use cases the team releases.
